A few days ago was the try outs fa my official Aau Team…During the school year I visited my neighborhood elementary school & the kids told me they ain’t have a Aau team Dat fucked me up a lil bit cuz ik comin up we at least had that opportunity & if these kids ain’t in no program or involved in some type of sport it ain’t shit but trouble out there to find them…So I kept my promise with the help of management & some ppl within my community and we put together “The Chicago Grizzlies”🐻🖤for the youth this a pretty big/heart warming accomplishment to me Cuz I always wanted to b the one to grow up & make some type of difference💯💯
During a recent visit to his old neighborhood near the North Side of Chicago, Rapper Polo G was alerted by the local youth that they didn’t have an official competitive basketball or AAU team. He expressed, “This messed me up a little bit because I know comin up we at least had this one opportunity, and without these types of programs it’
s only trouble out there.”
With the help of his mother and manager Stacia Mac, and a hand full of local community leaders, the Columbia Recording Artist was able to not only host tryouts but successfully create a competitive youth team where coaches will develop talent to actively compete and travel during the summer months. Players will also be provided transportation to and from practices in additional to hot meals and a safe community environment to hone in on their skills. “Our ultimate goal is to develop the skills of our talent while attracting college scouts and creating scholarship opportunities for our boys” says Stacia Mac.
Polo G, who rapidly rose to fame with his Top 10 Billboard Charting hit “Pop Out”, has made it a point to be involved in his community as much as possible between touring and recording. This year alone he paid the graduating class fee’s at Chicago’s Manierre Elementary School and is slated to hold a coat drive in the same neighborhood. The Chicago rapper feels he is just getting started as he pledges to continue to invest in the neighborhood that raised him and looks forward to developing his new youth team.
