Oklahoma 6th Grader Honored After Saving Choking Classmate and Woman from House Fire

Back on December 9, 11-year-old Davyon Johnson acted as a real-life superhero when he saved a fellow classmate from choking on a water bottle cap and a woman escape a house fire on the same day.

Johnson performed the Heimlich maneuver to help the student cough up the bottle cap, later that evening Johnson helped an elderly woman off her porch and into her vehicle when he noticed that her house was on fire.

The Muskogee School Board has rewarded Johnson with three awards during a school board meeting. The 6th-grader has also been named an honorary police officer and an honorary sheriff’s deputy.

Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman has declared December 10, Davyon Johnson Day because of his heroism.
