Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot met with New York City Mayor Eric Adams in Chicago on Friday (March 18) to discuss community safety strategies for the two cities, with a focus on crime on public transportation.

During a joint news conference after a private meeting, Adams credited Lightfoot as a mayor who understands the need to focus simultaneously on “intervention and prevention.”
