BHM SERIES – The Present & Future Black History of Chicago: People To Know, Places To Go, and Things To See

Urban Growers Collective is an organization that was co-founded by Laurell Sims and Erika Allen in the fall of 2017. They work closely with communities and farms to show them how to grow, prepare and distribute their own food. The Urban Grower Collective builds to grow a stronger and healthier community through programs like food access, job training and community engagement. They have grown to have 8 farms throughout the city of chicago with over 20,000 pounds of produce grown and harvested. The Urban Growers Collective promotes health, economic development and healing through urban agriculture.
