BHM SERIES – The Present & Future Black History of Chicago: People To Know, Places To Go, and Things To See

Muddy Waters is the father of modern Chicago blues. Moving from the south to Chicago Muddy created his home into a hub for other blues musicians and entertainers. In 2021 Muddy’s southside home earned landmark status preserving the culture of Chicago blues and the legacy of black history. The first floor of his 2-flat home will be a museum honoring his life. The Mojo museum will be a way to educate people the importance of blues. It will also feature classes taught by musicians with lessons focusing on empowering women and teaching them how to play music.
