In a tragic turn of events, a man named Michael Freund has been charged with the murder of a father of two and one on the way , Dexter Perkins, during a deadly altercation outside Rosie O’Reilly’s Irish Pub & Grub in Wheaton,IL (North Chicagoland suburb). The incident occurred on a fateful Friday morning when a seemingly innocuous offer of leftover pizza sparked an argument between patrons.
Perkins, a regular customer at the pub, was tragically struck in the torso and face, succumbing to his wounds on the scene. Eyewitnesses recount a chaotic scene in which another man fired two shots into the air before the fatal shot was fired, hitting Perkins in the head.
The accused, Michael Freund, appeared in court on Saturday(23/12/2023) and was charged with first-degree murder, with no pre-trial release granted. The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, along with the community, mourns the loss of a beloved father and friend.
