TEXAS TOURISTS ELECTROCUTED IN RESORT JACUZZI, HUSBAND DIES WHILE WIFE FIGHTS FOR HER LIFE

A man from Texas died and a woman was injured when they were electrocuted in a hot tub at a resort in northwest Mexico, officials and local media said Wednesday.

The couple, Jorge Guillen and Lizette Zambrano of El Paso, were both in a Jacuzzi at the Sonoran Sea Resort when they were electrocuted, KTSM News reported. A video was posted of the aftermath of the incident, which appears to show some people screaming and huddled around a hot tub while someone tries to perform chest compressions on a person lying on the ground.

The prosecutor’s office said possible wiring failure may have caused Jorge to get electrocuted, while Lizeth reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries.

Lizeth was taken to a nearby hospital for her burns from the electric shock and then transported back to the U.S, where she was listed in critical condition.

An investigation is underway, and authorities will now look to “determine the origin of the electric failure.”
