There’s a video going viral on social media of dental staff at Premier Dental Group in Knoxville, Tennessee laughing at and mocking a cancer patient’s private diary while reading it out loud.
The diary discussed the patient’s concerns with treatment options and surgeries.
The dental office did release a statement on
Facebook before deleting their entire page, stating they deeply regret the incident and are taking immediate steps to address it.
“We deeply regret this incident and the hurt has caused. We take this matter very seriously. We have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident and are taking immediate steps to address it.”
“The employees involved have been addressed and we are reviewing our internal policies and training procedures to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.”
Even though Premier Dental Group released a statement apologizing for their actions, the shocking video of the woman reading the patients notes out loud triggered social media into getting them removed from the field.
This is yet another incident (not at the same place) where a patient’s health records or information in general has been released to the public on a nurses social media page.
