In April, a tweet led to a partnership deal for Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese. Boardroom announced on Wednesday that the WNBA All-Star signed an agreement with Reese’s, making her a brand ambassador and launching a new candy-themed collection of merchandise.
It all started when Reese tweeted asking for a new nickname to replace “Bayou Barbie.” Thats when a fan responded with “Reese’s Pieces,” creating a marketing opportunity for the her and the candy brand.
The collection available on Reese’s official website features shirts, sweatshirts and hats featuring the phrase “Reese’s Angel.”
The two future drops will see a jersey release and, lastly, another eight-item apparel set featuring the brand’s Reese’s Cups logo.
For Reese, the newest deal in her portfolio marks yet another partnership with a globally operating legacy brand.
