Young Thug was announced to be free with 15 years of probation.
By Thug accepting the plea deal, Judge Whitaker sentenced him to 40 years, with five years commuted to time served, followed by 15 years of probation.
If probation isn’t completed, a ‘backloaded’ 20-year term will require him to serve the remainder in custody.
Thug also cannot be in Atlanta for 10 years with the exception of funerals, weddings, and special medical cases with immediate family members. He’s also not to associate with known gang members with the exception of his biological brother and Gunna due to them being music collaborators.
After court was dismissed, Thug’s lawyers and father was approached by news and media to give their remarks and opinions on the trial.
Thug’s father was not happy with how everything went. He wished Thug would’ve kept fighting and that he’s against the plea deal.
