With 277 electoral votes counted, Donald Trump has now been appointed as the new President of the United States of America. Donald Trump is now set to take on the presidency in January 2025, resuming his way of the presidency from 2016. This is the first time in four years that the republican party has won the election, and many have mixed feelings about this.

America was close to having its first female African American president, and many pushed for this significant change. However, history has never shown a woman takes on full responsibility for leading an entire nation, and sadly, we are still waiting for this to happen. Therefore, we must pay attention to the type of man we are claiming to mirror the definition of the presidency.
Now that Donald Trump is president, many feel as if they’re safe from actions such as war with other countries, a decrease in funding for different groups that don’t affect the majority, and immigration issues. These may be peaceful reassurance to some, but not all. On the other hand, others feel as if we, America, just witnessed their first nightmare in a while.
Donald Trump has gone viral for many things, and one quote that never left Trump’s aura was “grab ’em by the p***y,” which raised a lot of eyebrows for men and women across the nation. A lot of women’s rights are now in question as we have appointed Trump as the new “leader” of this country. Abilities such as birth control, abortions, adequate child care, and other reproductive rights have been threatening to change, according to Trump, leaving communities such as the black community in fear of what is to come for our women in our culture.

Women’s rights are not the only aspect of freedom that is in question. Now that Trump has been elected, the biggest threat to America may be Project 2025. Project 2025 involves altering the Constitution, putting a pause on educational funding, ceasing the teachings of black history, and so much more.
Trump lives by the slogan “Make America Great Again,” which many people are voting to see. However, others would like to know when America was “great.” Furthermore, who was it significant to, and in what ways was it considered excellent in its history? In the eyes of many, America has some severe work to do before it is considered good, let alone great.
