Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs have been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl during an after-party that took place after the 2000 Video Music Awards, as stated in a revised civil lawsuit submitted on Sunday. According to the lawsuit, “Another celebrity observed as Combs and Carter took turns attacking the minor,” but the lawsuit does not identify this celebrity.

In a statement released on the Roc Nation X account on Sunday, Jay-Z refuted the accusations against him outlined in the complaint. Jay-Z was added to the lawsuit initially filed in October, which included various anonymous claims made by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee.
Several previous lawsuits were halted because the complainants opted to remain anonymous; however, in this instance, the judge concluded that the then-13-year-old had valid reasons to maintain anonymity. In the initial complaint, Carter was referred to as Celebrity A. The plaintiff claimed that a limousine driver took notice of her and invited her to an after-party where Combs and Carter allegedly assaulted her.

Combs’ legal team responded to ABC News on Sunday regarding the filing, stating, “This revised complaint and the recent extortion lawsuit against Mr. Buzbee reveal his series of lawsuits against Mr. Combs for what they truly are: blatant publicity stunts aimed at extracting money from celebrities who are afraid of having falsehoods spread about them, just as untruths have been spread concerning Mr. Combs.”
“As previously stated by his legal team, Mr. Combs has complete confidence in the facts and the integrity of the legal system. In court, the truth will come to light: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — whether man or woman, adult or minor,” Combs’ representatives asserted in the statement. Jay-Z is now asking the “victim” to reveal herself.
