An incident first reported by The Chicago Reporter involved a heated exchange between music executives John Monopoly and Joseph “JB” Bowden. The recorded audio revealed a 9-minute back-and-forth discussion between the two men, centering around accusations of “stalking.”
In the recording, its seems if Monopoly speaks on Bowden alledgely being caught photographing Monopoly and his wife at The Waldort Astoria hotel and sending the image to an unidentified recipient for undisclosed reasons.
According to the Chicago Reporter, the conversation began with Monopoly expressing his feelings of betrayal regarding Bowden’s actions. He recalled a previous incident where Bowden had excluded him from a significant business deal—something he had chosen to forgive at the time. Monopoly emphasized their long-standing personal and professional relationship, reminding Bowden of the trust he had placed in him by inviting him to his wedding, family gatherings, and key moments in his career.
“JB, after all the support l’ve given you-you met my grandmother, you were at my wedding-and this is how you repay me? Stalking me and my wife? Taking photos of us at The Waldorf and sharing them? Don’t f*cking play with me,” Monopoly declares, his voice laced with frustration and disappointment.
WHATS THE WORD has not spoken to JB regarding the audio and allegations. When we reached out to John Monopoly, he only provided us with a statement “JB is a stalker and a clown . That’s my quote .” He didn’t mention the leak audio.
