Authorities have identified the teenage girl found brutally beaten to death at a West Side park as 16-year-old Kayla Aaliyah Joyce Love, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Kayla was reported missing on March 16th, 2025, after she was last seen around 6pm at McDonald’s on Roosevelt & Kedzie with her friends.
Around 8pm, Staff at McDonald’s said they put her and the friends out for being disruptive.
On March 17, 2025, Chicago Police responded to Horan Park, located at Van Buren and Whipple, after receiving reports of an unconscious female.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teen lying face down, barefoot, and unresponsive.
It remains unclear what led to the individual’s death, but sources confirmed to WGN-TV that the victim had suffered severe head trauma and had been stabbed several times in the face and neck.
CPD has no suspect in custody as Area 4 Detectives are investigating.
