WAITRESS ATTACKED AT RESTAURANT IN CHICAGO’S PILSEN NEIGHBORHOOD

A 23-year-old Chicago waitress was beaten by two women inside a Pilsen restaurant last Friday in an attack caught on surveillance video.

According to CBS News, the restaurant’s owner, Martha Garcia, said this started when two women returned after picking up their tacos and margaritas, claiming they weren’t satisfied with the food and requesting a refund.

Once the waitress didn’t give them their refund, that’s when things took a turn for the worse. One of the suspects was seen going around the counter and dumping the victim’s phone in water.

Video shows the women throwing objects inside the restaurant and pulling down decorations. When the waitress confronted them, she was punched and stomped multiple times.

“I came in when I heard what was going on and I was able to pull off one of her attackers. When I finally got them separated, one of them then turned to me and started swinging,” Marta Garcia said.

The waitress, who suffered several bruises and cuts as well as a broken finger, is now recovering.

The waitress, who remains unnamed, is expected to be okay.

By the time the police arrived, both women were gone.
