Video has been going viral of a fan falling from the stands and to the ground during a Pirates versus Cubs game.
The game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs was paused in the bottom of the seventh inning on Wednesday night as a fan appeared to have fallen onto the field.
According to CBS News, another fan jumped from the lower part of the outfield wall to help the person who fell. It was not immediately clear if that person was a family member or a bystander assisting.
Players kneeled as a medical cart was brought out for a fan who was lying on his back. Athletes from both teams could be seen praying, and McCutchen held a cross that hung from his neck while the fan was being taken off the field. The game was delayed for approximately 10 minutes before play resumed.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
