A violent and racially charged altercation at a bar in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is now under investigation after a viral video captured a group of white men—allegedly affiliated with a known motorcycle gang—physically assaulting a Black man while reportedly using racial slurs.
The incident took place late Friday night, May 30, at Pike’s Pub, a neighborhood bar located in the Waynedale community of Fort Wayne. According to the New York Post, the confrontation began over an alleged unpaid tab, which quickly escalated into a brutal attack.
Eyewitness video shows the victim being shoved, tackled, and beaten by multiple white men wearing jackets labeled with the “Outlaw” logo—suggesting affiliation with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, a group previously linked to organized crime. Shouts of racial slurs can reportedly be heard in the background of the footage, adding a disturbing racial dimension to the assault.
Law enforcement officers from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the bar around 11 p.m. The victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, declined to name his attackers to police but was taken to a local hospital in fair condition. The case has since been forwarded to the department’s Criminal Investigations Division for further review (New York Post).
As of June 1, no arrests have been made. The incident has drawn public backlash and renewed concerns about the presence of hate-motivated violence in public establishments. Pike’s Pub has since taken down its social media pages and remains closed in the wake of the attack.
Fort Wayne’s newly elected mayor, Sharon Tucker, responded to the footage on Sunday, stating that the video was “very disturbing.” She affirmed that her office is gathering more information and urged the public to remain calm as the investigation unfolds (New York Post).
This incident has reignited conversations around the role of hate groups in local communities and the challenges of ensuring safe, inclusive public spaces. Advocacy groups and local leaders are now calling for increased oversight of establishments that attract gang activity and for broader accountability for those involved in racially motivated violence.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate and has asked any witnesses with additional information to come forward.
