SMASH-AND-GRAB CREW HITS ALO STORE ON CHICAGO’S MAGNIFICENT MILE

Smash-and-grab burglars struck again early Wednesday morning, this time targeting the Alo Yoga store on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Around 4:30 a.m., four men shattered the front glass door of the high-end athleticwear shop at 717 N. Michigan Avenue and ransacked the merchandise inside.

Chicago police said the suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount of clothing before fleeing the scene. Video footage from the aftermath shows clothing tags and hangers littering the sidewalk outside the store. Investigators are still reviewing surveillance footage, and no arrests have been made.

This latest hit adds to a growing pattern of retail thefts in the area, especially along the Mag Mile—a once-thriving shopping corridor that’s been plagued by a string of burglaries in recent years. Alo Yoga, known for selling luxury loungewear and workout gear, offers items priced from $34 accessories to $168 sweatsuits.

Area Three detectives are handling the investigation as business owners along Michigan Avenue grow increasingly frustrated over ongoing security concerns.
