Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been denied bond yet again—this time for a proposed $4.5 million package. A federal judge ruled against his release on Tuesday, marking the third time his legal team has unsuccessfully sought bail in the ongoing murder-for-hire case against him.
Durk has been behind bars since late 2024, facing federal charges tied to an alleged murder-for-hire plot. According to Billboard, his attorneys proposed a hefty bond that included $3 million in cash, additional real estate equity, and strict conditions like 24/7 home confinement and electronic monitoring. Prosecutors, however, pushed back hard.
According to court documents, the judge agreed with prosecutors who said Durk poses a significant flight risk and could potentially tamper with witnesses if released. They also cited his past legal issues and alleged efforts to intimidate witnesses as reasons for keeping him locked up.
This is the third time the court has refused bail—despite Durk increasing the bond offer each time. His first two attempts, including a $3 million proposal, were both denied in late 2024 and early 2025.
Now, with his trial scheduled to begin on October 14, 2025, Durk will remain in custody. His legal team may attempt further motions, but for now, he’s staying in jail.
