WNBA star and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is making a lasting impact both on and off the court. In collaboration with Cash App, the All-Star athlete unveiled Angel’s Court, a new state-of-the-art outdoor basketball facility located at Oakwood Beach on Chicago’s South Side.

The project is part of a broader initiative to uplift underserved communities through sport, financial literacy, and youth empowerment. The dual-court facility—designed in partnership with the nonprofit Project Backboard and the Angel C. Reese Foundation—features Chicago Sky-themed designs and eight new rims, offering a vibrant space for recreation and development.
“This court is more than just a place to hoop,” Reese stated in a press release. “It’s a space where girls can see what’s possible for them on and off the court. I’m excited to work with Cash App to create more opportunities for the next generation of basketball players and leaders” (Fox 32 Chicago).

Cash App has made strategic investments in women’s sports in recent years, including sponsorships with the Atlanta Dream and the F1 Academy. The collaboration with Reese furthers its commitment to social equity by investing in grassroots initiatives that connect community development with access to economic resources (On3 Sports).
Angel’s Court officially opened in June 2025 and is now available to the public. Its opening marks a major milestone in Chicago’s efforts to provide safe, engaging, and inspiring spaces for youth—particularly young girls—to thrive in athletics and beyond.
