A talented hairstylist from Chicago, affectionately known as “Z Money,” has tragically been identified as the woman found in Lake Michigan near Navy Pier on Saturday. Zahrie Walls, just 27 years old, was discovered in the water close to East Grand Avenue around 5:30 p.m. and later pronounced deceased at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
At around 4 p.m., search teams began looking for a person who went missing in the water at 63rd Street Beach. Reports indicate that two individuals were in the lake near Jackson Park when a distressing situation unfolded. While one individual was fortunate enough to make it to safety, the other was still unaccounted for. Teams, including divers from the Chicago Fire Department and a helicopter, tirelessly worked to locate the missing person.
The Chicago police are investigating this heartbreaking incident, and they have chosen to hold off on sharing further details for now. Our thoughts are with Zahrie’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
