Blademir Angulo Audeves, the owner of Taqueria El Taco Loko in Phoenix, was arrested on July 8, 2025 on federal charges related to immigration violations. Authorities say he illegally re-entered the U.S. after being deported in 2021 and employed multiple undocumented workers at his restaurant, taco trailer, and food bus.
Homeland Security Investigations began looking into Angulo’s businesses in March. Agents later found at least 12 undocumented immigrants working for him—some living at his properties. He’s also accused of helping several cross the border, charging thousands of dollars in return.
During raids on his home and businesses, agents seized firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammo. Angulo claims he didn’t smuggle anyone, but did admit to hiring undocumented workers “under the table.”
He appeared in federal court on July 11 and remains in custody. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a broader DOJ effort targeting illegal immigration and labor abuse.
Meanwhile, his supporters have rallied behind the family, organizing community events and demanding fair treatment.
