A Harris County Precinct 5 deputy based in Houston is under internal investigation after posting a viral TikTok while in uniform. Deputy Jennifer Escalera appeared in the now-deleted video writing in a notepad with the caption: “Didn’t get cracked last night so everyone is getting a ticket…” — a slang reference to not having sex.
The video quickly drew backlash for being unprofessional and sparked concerns about officer conduct. Though her badge was partially blurred, her name was clearly visible and there were other videos on her account where you could see her uniform more clear.
The Harris County Constable’s Office confirmed the matter is under review by Internal Affairs. It’s unclear if Escalera will face disciplinary action.
Many in the Houston community are calling for accountability, saying the post damages public trust in law enforcement.
