NEW YORK FIRE CHIEF ON LEAVE AFTER VIDEO SHOWS HIM CURSING AT KID

A New York fire chief is on leave after a viral video showed him cursing at a distressed 10-year-old girl during an emergency call.

According to NBC New York, the 10 year old girl had become emotionally overwhelmed after having her phone taken away by her mom and that she called the local police.

Peter Alt, chief of the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company on Long Island, New York, was heard yelling “Shut the f— up” and “Shut your mouth” as the girl, who appeared upset, was being loaded into an ambulance on August 4, 2025.

The department removed him from duty the next day pending an investigation. Local officials condemned the behavior as unacceptable, especially toward a child.
