Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce is showing Chicago some sweet love — and he did it on national TV. During NFL Monday Night Countdown live on ESPN, Kelce rocked a t-shirt from Old Fashioned Donuts, a Roseland staple that’s been serving up treats since 1972. He later took to social media to call the shop “an absolute gem” while hyping up their “immaculate” donut holes.
“Mr. B made the best Apple Fritter I’ve ever had, and I don’t even like Apple Fritters. Old Fashioned Donuts in Chicago is an absolute gem,” Kelce replied to the post, giving his social media followers backstory on the store owner. “He opened the place in 1972, hasn’t had an off day since. Turns 87 on Oct, 5th. The workers, the food, it was all just a fantastic experience.”
For South Siders, this isn’t news—locals have long lined up for the bakery’s famous apple fritters, along with fresh glazed classics that have kept the shop buzzing for more than 50 years.
