Fresh off his split with Warner Music and his release from the feds, Lil Zay is moving different these days. The melodic drill pioneer—already certified gold by the RIAA—just dropped a new single and interview combo that proves he’s not here to play.
After chopping it up with No Jumper, Zay let the streets know he’s on a new wave. His last major project, The Streets Calling My Name, Pt. 2, showcased a more reflective side of him, delivering fan-favorites like Hood Cry, Lost Somebody, and Bad Boy. That project solidified why Zay has remained a key voice in Chicago rap, blending raw storytelling with melodic drill in a way only he can.

“Dog Sh*t Records” and What It Stands For
Zay’s latest release, “Dog Sh*t Records,” is straight talk for the culture. It’s a record aimed at the clout chasers, the fake rich, and the “Instagram flexers” who can’t back up their lifestyle in real life. As Zay put it:
“Everybody wanna have dog sht.”*
The track taps into that hunger for money, status, and attention—whether it’s attracting bad bitches, haters, or just the noise that comes with it. And, of course, he linked up with legendary videographer DGainz for the visuals. This isn’t their first collab either—they’ve been locked in on hits like Ones I Love, Fresh Out The Fedz, and My Lil Sht*.
Zay’s Next Chapter
With over 700 million combined streams, Lil Zay has already proven he’s got both consistency and impact. His voice carved out a unique lane in drill, but now he’s looking beyond just being a rapper. He’s stepping into roles as a storyteller, visionary, and executive.
This next chapter feels like a victory lap—Zay closing out his run in drill while setting himself up for longevity in the industry. After controversy, setbacks, and time behind bars, he’s moving with a new perspective. One thing’s for sure: Lil Zay’s story is still being written, and it’s only getting bigger from here.
