Thirty-three-year-old Jessica Williams went on a birthday trip with her family to New Orleans but tragically never made it back home to her children. What was meant to be a fun celebration turned deadly when two men shot at each other, inadvertently hitting Williams and her sister as they were walking back to their hotel room.

According to Fox 8 Live, Jessica Williams’ mother spoke out about the incident. She mentioned that she was with her two daughters and other family members when her phone died, prompting her to return to the hotel room. Afterward, she received a disturbing phone call from her daughter’s phone, during which she heard her daughter screaming in the background that Jessica was not moving. In a panic, she ran down Bourbon Street to reach them.
Williams’ sister was also injured and is currently hospitalized in New Orleans. Jessica leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son. Mehki Andry was arrested on Tuesday, and Dontrelle Bradly is in custody after being hospitalized due to his own gunshot wounds.
