Arthur M. Blank, co-founder of Home Depot, is donating $50 million through his foundation to support students at Atlanta’s HBCUs — Clark Atlanta, Morehouse, Morris Brown, and Spelman.
According to WSB-TV, the funds will provide “gap scholarships” to help nearly 10,000 students who are close to graduating but face financial shortfalls. This support will start in 2026 and aims to boost graduation rates and ease financial burdens.
This is the largest gift the foundation has given to Georgia HBCUs, building on previous donations to support innovation labs and facilities.
Blank’s donation is a powerful investment in education equity, helping students finish their degrees and strengthening Atlanta’s Black colleges for the future.
