In October, people around the world observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This international health campaign is organized each year by major breast cancer charities to raise awareness about the disease and to gather funds for research focused on its causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and potential cures.

In Chicago, well-known blogger Fyb J Mane and artist BigMouf’ Bo organized a breast cancer walk to support this initiative. Bo, a writer, actress, and rapper, faced her own cancer challenges in 2023. This issue is particularly close to her heart, as both her mother and great-grandmother lost their lives to breast cancer.
On October 17th, participants walked 2.5 miles through downtown Chicago to show their support for breast cancer awareness. They also reached out to breast cancer survivors by phone, giving them a chance to share their personal journeys. Other Chicago influencers and artists such as Dreadhead Cowboy, Munna Ike, Juby Da God, King Pinrue, and others joined in to demonstrate their solidarity.
