PSA: Tennessee State University is offering full scholarships to qualified Black male high school seniors through a TSU–Meharry Medical College partnership that fast-tracks an M.D. or D.D.S. in seven years.

Tennessee State University (TSU) has announced a full scholarship opportunity aimed at increasing the number of Black male doctors and dentists. Through a long-standing partnership with Meharry Medical College, eligible students complete three years at TSU and then transition to Meharry to earn an M.D. or D.D.S. in just seven years—one year faster than the traditional route.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Black male high school seniors
  • ACT score: 28 or higher
  • GPA: 3.5 or higher (unweighted recommended)
  • Strong interest in medicine (M.D.) or dentistry (D.D.S.)

How the TSU–Meharry Pathway Works

  1. Years 1–3: Undergraduate studies at Tennessee State University
  2. Years 4–7: Professional training at Meharry Medical College
  3. Outcome: Earn an M.D. or D.D.S. in seven years total
