Chicago creative Jasper Noland is opening up about a moment that changed his life forever — one that tested his strength, his faith, and his future. At just 33 years old, Jasper survived a severe STEMI heart attack caused by a genetic disorder known as Familial Hyperlipidemia, which leads to dangerously high cholesterol levels and often goes undetected in Black families.
The impact was serious. Jasper’s overall heart function is now reduced, and doctors are closely monitoring what may be early signs of heart failure. Still, he remains grounded in gratitude, sharing, “God got me through this — I’m a living testimony.”

To begin healing, Jasper is now on eight daily medications, strict rest, and ongoing medical supervision. The recovery timeline is unknown, which has become one of the most difficult challenges. As an independent filmmaker (LMTMS – Let My Story) and freelance hairstylist, Jasper’s ability to work relies on his physical endurance — something that has been drastically limited since the heart attack.
With limited healthcare options and the physical demands of both careers, he is unable to work consistently. Despite this, Jasper is using his experience to raise awareness and encourage others in the Black community to take their health seriously. He stresses the importance of early detection, saying that if he hadn’t gone to the ER that day, he may not be here today.
As he documents his path back to strength, Jasper is seeking community support to raise $25,000 to cover:
- Medical bills from the heart attack and continued treatment
- Daily medications
- Household and life expenses during recovery (Nov–Jan)
- Stability while he regains the strength to work safely
- Support for new film and barbering ventures once healed
This chapter has been traumatic, humbling, and life-altering, but Jasper is committed to recovering with courage, discipline, and faith. He’s asking the community to stand with him as he rebuilds physically and financially.
Any donation or share — big or small — helps him stay focused on healing instead of survival.
