A domestic dispute in Texas turned into a dangerous blaze on January 5 when a woman allegedly set her boyfriend’s clothes on fire in a barbecue pit on their apartment balcony. The flames quickly spread into the building, igniting a fire that ultimately damaged 13 apartment units.
Residents of the complex were forced to evacuate as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. One firefighter was injured while battling a rekindled hotspot and was transported to a hospital, but thankfully no civilians were reported hurt, according to Click 2 Houston.
The woman, identified as 28-year-old Crystal Randall, was arrested and charged with reckless arson. Officials say the building sustained heavy, irreparable damage, leaving many residents displaced and their belongings destroyed.
