One of Chicago’s most recognizable nightlife staples is officially coming to an end. LITE Chicago has announced it is closing its doors, a move that signals the conclusion of an era for River North nightlife. The venue announced on Instagram that this Sunday is the last Bevy on Sunday event that they will have but to keep an eye out because this isn’t the last we will really hear of it.
For more than 10 years, LITE served as the home of packed weekends, celebrity appearances, and popular weekly events like Bevy on Sundays, which became a go-to destination for partygoers looking to close out the weekend in the city.
An official reason for the closure has not been publicly shared, but the announcement has already sparked reactions from longtime supporters, promoters, and club-goers who made countless memories inside the venue.
As Chicago’s nightlife continues to evolve, the closing of LITE leaves a noticeable gap in the scene — especially for those who considered Sundays at LITE a tradition.
