COLORADO POLICE ARREST DRUNK DRIVER AND FIND 3 KIDS IN THR TRUNK

A routine DUI stop in Westminster, Colorado, turned into a disturbing discovery that stunned even seasoned officers, according to CBS News. Police pulled over a vehicle after noticing erratic driving behavior and quickly suspected the driver was intoxicated. As officers investigated, the situation escalated in an unexpected and chilling way.

After being detained, the driver, Thomas Michael Raiola, reportedly told officers that three children were in the trunk of his car. When police opened it, they found the children inside. Miraculously, authorities said the children were unharmed — a fact that feels almost unbelievable given the dangers involved, including freezing temperatures, lack of ventilation, and an impaired driver behind the wheel.

Raiola was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, and three counts of child abuse. Child Protective Services was contacted immediately, and the children were later released into the care of family members.

Raiola posted a $2,500 bond and is due back in court on March 16.
