Chicago rapper Vic Mensa is giving back to his community in a major way.
The South Side artist and his Chicago-based cannabis brand, 93 Boyz, have officially launched the Free Smoke Medical Program — a new initiative designed to support Illinois residents who rely on medicinal cannabis but may be struggling financially, physically, or medically.
The program aims to provide assistance to adults who depend on cannabis to manage serious health conditions but face hardships that make consistent access difficult. The community-centered effort reflects Mensa’s continued focus on activism and local investment, particularly in neighborhoods that have been disproportionately impacted by cannabis criminalization.
The Free Smoke Medical Program is currently limited to Illinois residents. Those interested in applying must do so through 93 Boyz’s social media platforms, where applicants will be reviewed and considered for assistance.
Mensa has been vocal about creating opportunities within the legal cannabis industry for Black and Brown communities. Through 93 Boyz, he has positioned the brand as not just a business, but a social equity movement rooted in Chicago.
With this new program, Vic Mensa is blending entrepreneurship with advocacy — ensuring that access to medical cannabis doesn’t become a privilege only available to those who can afford it.
For many Illinois patients, this initiative could mean relief during some of their most difficult moments. To apply click here.
