TEEN KILLED IN ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT ON CHICAGO’S FAR SOUTH SIDE

A deadly encounter on Chicago’s Far South Side has left a teenage boy dead following an alleged armed robbery attempt, according to ABC Chicago.

Authorities say the incident unfolded Wednesday afternoon in the West Pullman neighborhood. A 16-year-old boy reportedly approached a 27-year-old man with a handgun and attempted to rob him.

Police say the situation quickly escalated when the man, who was also armed, pulled out his own weapon and fired, striking the teen in the chest.

The teen was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Investigators recovered two firearms from the scene, and the older man was taken in for questioning as detectives work to determine whether the shooting was an act of self-defense.
