Elementary school teachers accused of giving children sleeping aids have been removed from their classroom in Spring, Texas.
According to ABC 13, parents of students at Northgate Crossing Elementary School, are upset after teachers were accused of giving elementary students special stickers that are believed to be sleeping aids. One of the parents, Lisa Luviano, said her daughter came home showing her the sticker. Luviano claims her daughter told her that other kids in her class also received one.
“The next day, we went to the school. We brought the evidence up there, and we filed a report. We did say we wanted to file criminal charges if this is something that is true,” Luviano said.
The expectation was that the school would notify other parents after nearly two weeks went by. Luviano grew increasingly concerned and decided to contact other parents about the stickers.
Luviano and another parent said that after coming home from school, their children struggle to sleep.
Parents say the patch was a peel-and-stick Sleep Z patch, which contains over 10 ingredients including Ashwagandha and Melatonin, and can be found online at shopping sites like Amazon.
The SISD has not identified the teachers involved but said that the alleged behavior had violated its Board Policy FFAC.
This puts a new fear into parents whose children go to school because teachers are supposed to be trusted. Parents at Northgate Crossing is wondering for how long this went on for and is it anything else that’s been going on.
