DOECHII IS SETTING A NEW STANDARD IN FEMALE RAP MUSIC

This year’s newest rap star, 4x Grammy nominee Doechii has been setting the bar high in rap music. Recently, Doechii has been selling out on her tour, receiving higher recognition for her lyrics, and featuring on some our favorite artist’s newest projects. Doechii’s stage performance, choice of style, and limitless lyrics seems to be giving other female rap artists a run for their money.

Recently, Doechii has been making many special appearances in different eras of rap music. This past weekend, Camp Flog Gnaw’s Festival featured Doechii, and her set had the crowd in amazement. Doechii’ brought out SZA to perform their song “Persuasive” and later that night she came out for Tyler, the Creator’s set to perform their song “Ballon.”

Many fans of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) were skeptical of their future success since Kendrick Lamar left their label, but Doechii has been keeping the fire going since his absence. Doechii has been receiving an abundance of flowers from many artist including Kendrick, which has fans waiting for a possible collaboration from these two artists. If this were to come true, that was would be a collaboration of a lifetime.

Doechii has made it clear that she is not going no where. Recently, she was been nominated a total of four times, including nominations of “Best Rap Performance” and “ Best New Artist.” Furthermore, her tour was ranked an “A+” by Vogue Magazine. There is no doubt or question that Doechii is bringing a new wave of attention to female hiphop.

Doechii explains that she refuses to be pushed into a box. She has been set apart from the rest of female rappers in the industry, and it seems to be working in her favor. Doechii has a rare sound, style, and cadence of lyricism; she is not a force to be reckoned with.
