R. KELLY’S ATTORNEY SEEKS HIS RELEASE FROM PRISON SAYS HIS LIFE IS IN DANGER

R. Kelly is requesting an emergency release from federal prison, asserting that he is being threatened by both staff and inmates in a situation that could jeopardize his life. In a recently filed motion in Chicago, his legal team claims that officials at the North Carolina facility where he is incarcerated are facilitating abuse and leaking confidential legal communications. Even more concerning, they allege that a white supremacist inmate has been encouraged to carry out a hit on the R&B singer.

In an unusual move, Kelly’s lawyers are bypassing the traditional clemency process and reaching out directly to former President Donald Trump, arguing he’s in the best position to intervene quickly. They describe Kelly’s current conditions as life-threatening and say immediate action is needed.

Kelly is currently serving a 31-year federal sentence for multiple convictions related to sexual abuse and child exploitation. The court has not yet ruled on the motion.
