Police say a 55-year-old lifeguard, who is a licensed concealed carry holder, opened fire on the teens after claiming they followed and attacked him. The man was taken into custody, but no charges have been filed yet.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. near Sacramento Drive. The older teen died at Stroger Hospital. The younger boy, reportedly a cousin of Laquan McDonald, remains hospitalized.
