CHICAGO BARBERSHOP OWNER SHOT AND KILLED IN HIS SHOP IN ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

A Chicago barbershop owner was shot and killed on Tuesday and now his family wants justice.

Mitchell Phillips, 52 years old, had been cutting hair in the East Chatham neighborhood for years before opening his own barbershop on 79th and Drexel, according to ABC News.

His family reports that this incident was an attempted robbery that tragically turned deadly. Phillips was shot multiple times but fought back fiercely. They mentioned that the shop’s door remained locked, even while it was open for business.

According to Phillips’ family, a witness inside the shop stated that two men were involved in the shooting, but the CPD did not confirm or deny this information.

So far no one is in custody and Chicago Police are still investigating.
