CHICAGO’S LITTLE VILLAGE SHOOTING LEAVES ONE MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION

A man is in critical condition after being shot in the head while driving Tuesday morning in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, according to police.

According to NBC Chicago, the shooting happened around 8:40 a.m. near 27th Street and Ridgeway Avenue. Authorities say the 31-year-old man was driving when gunfire struck him, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crash shortly afterward.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police have not released details about a possible motive or suspect description.

The shooting prompted a heavy police presence in the area as detectives canvassed the scene for evidence. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Residents reported street closures and traffic disruptions as officers worked the scene.
