A pharmacy in Belmont, Mississippi was targeted in a brazen overnight burglary that resulted in the theft of more than 5,000 hydrocodone pills, according to local authorities.
According to WTVA say the 3 suspects forced their way into the pharmacy by smashing the front glass with a hammer. Once inside, they focused on controlled substances, making off with thousands of pills of the opioid painkiller before fleeing the scene.
Investigators report that multiple suspects were involved, with surveillance footage showing at least two individuals entering the pharmacy while another waited in a getaway vehicle. Authorities believe two vehicles may have been used during the crime, including a black Infiniti and a Jeep with an Alabama license plate.
As of now, no arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information related to the burglary to contact the Belmont Police Department.
