Two teenagers are in critical condition after a stolen car crashed into a viaduct early Wednesday morning in Chicago’s West Lawn neighborhood.
Police say the crash happened just after 1 a.m. on West Marquette Road after officers spotted the stolen vehicle. The car struck the viaduct, causing severe injuries to both teens inside. According to NBC Chicago, they were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where they remain in critical condition.
No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating, and charges are pending.
The crash adds to growing concerns among residents about stolen vehicles and dangerous driving in the area, highlighting the risks these incidents pose to both those involved and the surrounding community.
