The incident unfolded Wednesday night in the Loop, where hundreds of teens reportedly gathered near State and Lake streets. Authorities said the situation quickly escalated as fights broke out and crowds began running through the area, causing concern among businesses, commuters, and residents.

Police responded to the scene as the crowd continued to grow, with reports of multiple disturbances. At least one teen was reportedly beaten unconscious during the chaos, prompting officers to move in and break up the gathering.

City officials enforced a 10 p.m. curfew, which helped disperse the crowd within about 40 minutes. Police confirmed that eight individuals were taken into custody, though details about the specific charges have not yet been released.

Officials continue to urge parents to monitor their children’s whereabouts and remind teens of the city’s curfew rules. Meanwhile, investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and social media activity connected to the gathering as part of the ongoing investigation.
