The untimely death of Chicago native and Lincoln University Alum, Dr. Antoinette “Bonnie” Candia- Bailey comes after recently accepting a position at her alma mater in May of 2023 as the VP of Student Affairs.
Dr. Bonnie Bailey’s passing was announced in a Facebook post via the Greater KC Chapter of Lincoln University of MO Alumni Association page.
Shortly after the announcement, Dr. Bailey’s cause of death was determined as a suicide caused by distress from “bullying and severe mistreatment” in the workplace caused by the university’s President Dr. John Mosely, and other leadership officials.
The community of Jefferson City and the LU National Alumni Association are demanding the immediate termination of LU President, Dr. Mosely and encouraging people to use #FireMosely to raise awareness of Dr. Baily’s tragic passing.
