FATHER OF FOUR KILLED WHILE WORKING SECURITY IN CHICAGO

A Chicago family grieves the loss of their loved one Loyce Wright of Hanover Park

A father of four was shot to death inside a Family Dollar on the West Side of Chicago, Friday afternoon. The shooting took place in the Austin neighborhood’s 5400 block of W. Chicago Ave just before 1:40 pm. The 43 year old identified as Loyce Wright, was inside the store when someone approached him, before taking out a gun and opening fire. He was shot multiple times, and transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wright’s daughter’s made a statement to news reporters stating that their father was never a tough guy especially when it came to them. “I’m telling the God honest truth, that dude was awesome. He was such a good dad,” said his daughter Sharice Wright. She also stated that everyone loved him and he did not have any haters. His sister Robin also commented and said “He trusted people. He loved people and people loved him, and for some reason, he just thought he could change people with hug.”

Wright was a resident of Hanover Park, a girl dad and loved fitness. He always had time for everyone. He had only been working at the family dollar for about a year and his family had been worried about his safety and the dangers it posed. There is no one in custody at this time. Let’s keep him and his family in our prayers and STOP THE VIOLENCE.

A spokesperson for Family Dollar issued a statement about the fatal shooting: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred at one of our Family Dollar stores in Chicago today. We are cooperating with local authorities as they investigate the crime. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, no further comment will be offered at this time.”
