Moscow’s Crocus Hall, has became the scene of a horrific attack as gunmen opened fire on the unsuspecting crowd and setting the hall on fire.
The death toll from a mass shooting at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow Friday evening has risen to at least 133 people, as emergency responders continued to clear away the rubble. At least another 145 others were reported injured.
Concertgoers had gathered at the venue to see the veteran Russian rock band Piknik not knowing that the night would turn into a nightmare.
According to CNN, the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the heinous act, citing it as a deliberate strike against a gathering of Christians in the vicinity of Moscow. While the authenticity of this claim remains to be verified, the repercussions of the attack are undeniably profound, with graphic videos surfacing online depicting the sheer terror and carnage that unfolded within the walls of the Crocus City Hall.
Video footage shows the men firing at bystanders as they attempted to hide or rush for the emergency exits. Some witnesses reported seeing the assailants pour a liquid on the concert hall’s seating and curtains before setting it on fire.
Four of the gunman out of the suspected 11, has been arrested.
