On March 19th, 2023, WHATS THE WORD participated in their first career fair at Chicago State University (CSU). The event offered students and alumni the chance to explore various career options in different industries, network with potential employers, and discover internship opportunities. Some students submitted their resumes online, while others submitted them in person.
We wanted to add some excitement to the event, so we offered a small on-camera interview to any students who visited our table. During the interview, we asked them about their career goals and other related topics. Additionally, we partnered with Live Young to bring a free concert experience to CSU’s campus for students to enjoy.
During our recent visit to Chicago State University, we met with some important staff members. We presented our platform to the attending students, highlighting the benefits of interning with us, and also had the opportunity to network with other potential partners, including Live Nation. Our goal in attending this career fair was to provide Midwest students with the chance to advance their media careers by working with one of the leading publications in the region.
