A Massachusetts fugitive known as the “Bad Breath Rapist” who had been on the run for 16 years was arrested in Danville. Tuen Kit Lee was found guilty of the kidnapping and rape of a young woman in Massachusetts, but fled during his trial in 2007.
Lee was arrested in Northern California for breaking into a co-worker’s house and committing rape back in early February 2005, in Massachusetts. The nickname was given due to his stink breath and DNA evidence.
Officials say earlier this year, images on social media showed a man who investigators believed was Lee. They connected those images to a home in Diablo.
They then observed Lee and a woman leaving the house and conducted a traffic stop. Initially, Lee provided a false name but eventually confessed his real identity, which was later verified by fingerprints.
